Ingredient & Instruction Groups

Sometimes it is useful to divide recipes in different groups or parts. Think about the icing and the cake batter, for example. Or a part of the recipe that can be created in advance and a part that has to be done à la minute.

That’s why in WP Ultimate Recipe you have full control over the way you group your ingredients and instructions. You can even have different groups for both!

Take a look at this recipe, for example:

Instructions
Fresh Pesto (you can make this in advance)
  1. We'll be using a food processor to make the pesto. Put the garlic, pine kernels and some salt in there and process briefly.
  2. Add the basil leaves (but keep some for the presentation) and blend to a green paste.
  3. While processing, gradually add the olive oil and finally add the Parmesan cheese.
Finishing the dish
  1. Bring a pot of salted water to the boil and cook your 200g tagliatelle al dente.
  2. Use the cooking time of the pasta to sauté your bacon strips.
  3. After about 8 to 10 minutes, the pasta should be done. Drain it and put it back in the pot to mix it with the pesto.
  4. Present the dish with some fresh basil leaves on top.
Recipe Notes

Or just leave it empty, and it will not appear!

You can see that there are 2 groups for the ingredients (1 of them is unnamed) and 2 different groups for the instructions. We give you the freedom to do whatever you want!

This is how it looks from the back-end for the ingredients:

Ingredient Groups

You can add as many groups as you like, name them however you want and delete them if you made a mistake. Organising your ingredients is just a matter of dragging and dropping them under the right group.

The same goes for the instructions, whose groups are independent of the ingredient groups.
